The Mistral
Trio is an ensemble of three friends who've been conversing through
music for over 12 years. During that time, they've played countless
weddings, cocktail hours, receptions, benefit concerts, and
full-length recitals throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. Often
they perform for events at private homes and estates. Their
repertoire includes more than 150 selections of primarily classical
music, plus other styles.
A mistral is
a strong northerly wind that blows in southern France. Since the
trio is a woodwind ensemble,
with a great deal of French music in its repertoire, it seemed a
fitting name for the ensemble.
And why hire
the Mistral Trio? Many music-lovers delight in discovering the
warmth, liveliness, and versatility of music performed by woodwind
trio. Woodwinds project sound well, which is important for outdoor
events; they can also play subdued background music. The trio may
be less expensive to hire than a brass quintet or string quintet,
